Title: Picturesque Europe. A Delineation by Pen and Pencil of the Natural Features and the Picturesque and Historical Places of Great Britain and the Continent. Illustrated on Steel and Wood by European and American Artists.
Printer/Publisher: D. Appleton
Language: English
Notes: T. G. Bonney’s "Rome and Its Environs" (vol. 2, pp. [293]-323) includes views, "Sculpture on the Arch of Titus" and "The Ghetto, Rome," the latter a full-page steel engraving. W. R. S. Ralston’s "Russia" (vol. 3, pp. [396]-428) includes a half-page steel engraving, "The Jews’ Market, Warsaw." Articles are unsigned in the American ed. but their authorship can be determined by the undated British ed. (London: Cassel, Petter, Galpin), one that does not credit Bayard Taylor as the editor.
