See chap. 20 for "Marm" Mandelbaum, a notorious fence for stolen goods, and her gang, including Michael Kurtz alias "Sheeney Mike." Chap. 31 covers the "Great Trunk Mystery" for which Dr. Jacob Rosenzweig was convicted for the death of Alice Augusta Bowlsby during an abortion. A perfect copy has a frontispiece of the author.
