Notes: A humorous advertising booklet touting the virtues of Rising Sun Stove Polish. The opening page shows an "unscrupulous" Jewish pedlar selling Mrs. Sillybilly a "Self Shining Stove Enamel." The worthless product not only pitted the stove, it turned one’s hands black and the air throughout the house became horribly toxic when the heated stove gave off a "poisonous odor that made the whole family dangerously sick." The front oover offers a color view of the company’s factory at Canton, Mass., whereas the rear cover contains acrostic verse promoting the Rising Sun brand. Another ed.: Five Points, N.Y.: Donaldson Brothers, [188-?]. [8] p.
